Affordable Housing
Building Futures with Latino Connection Foundation
The Affordable Housing Development work is at the heart of the Latino Connection Foundation's mission. We believe affordable housing is not only vital to ensure the health of any community, it is a human right. This passion that started with George Fernandez has evolved to a non-profit organization dedicated to help our neighbors develop affordable housing that not only meets the needs of the residents, but also the needs of the community.
Sycamore Homes
Our first affordable housing project is nearly complete! Sycamore Homes is a 23-unit apartment building at 1400 Sycamore Street in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This $4.8 million was a twinkle in George’s eye in 2021. In September 2024 we anticipate having our first residents move in.
Woodward Lofts
LCF submitted an application for Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) with the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Committee in January 2024. PHFA will announce the LIHTC awarded projects in July 2024! If funded, the site of the former Woodward Elementary School will be developed into Woodword Lofts, a 48-unit senior living community.
